Waist Drum In-line Pressure Balanced Expansion Joint
There’s one working bellow in each end of waist drum pressure balanced expansion joint, balance bellows in the middle. The pressure balanced expansion joints are subjected to internal pressure thrust by force member (large tie rod or tongue tube). Therefore,a middle fixing bracket is needed only for the piping system. Such expansion joints can absorb axial displacement only.

Performance
In-line Pressure Balanced Expansion Joints is consisted by different size bellows (usually the diameter should be 1.4 times bigger) to absorb the axial and balance the pressure thrust. All his pressure thrust is afforded by bellows itself. All ducts fixed supports are only designed according to bellows elastic force and ducts frictional resistance.
This expansion joint reduces the complexity and size of fix points by eliminating the pressure thrust, thereby delivering stability to the pipe system. This also reduces the required space for structures that carry fix points and guides. It's the optimum solution for additional scenarios such as a short pipe run connecting two vessels, that are unable to withstand the pressure thrust loads or at heights, where additional structures would significantly invrease costs.Pressure balanced expansion joints are available in various types as shown below.
Mainly used for ducts not suitable for building high thrust fixed supports or large diameter ducts. There’s typical installation of waist drum In-line Pressure Balanced Expansion Joints. When the Pressure Balanced Expansion Joints is absorbing the axial movements, the two devices each side will extend by temperature.
