What is a loose flange?
The looper flange is the movable flange piece, which is generally matched with the water supply and drainage fittings (the most common on the expansion joint). The equipment is bolted.
What is a flange?
Flange is a disc-shaped part, the most common in pipeline engineering, flanges are used in pairs. In pipeline engineering, flanges are mainly used for the connection of pipelines. In the pipelines that need to be connected, various flanges are installed. Wire flanges can be used for low-pressure pipelines, and welded flanges can be used for pressures above 4 kg. Add a sealing point between the two flanges and fasten them with bolts. Different pressure flanges have different thicknesses and use different bolts. When pumps and valves are connected to pipelines, parts of these equipment are also made into corresponding flange shapes, also known as flange connections. Any connecting parts that are bolted at the periphery of two planes and closed at the same time are generally called "flanges", such as the connection of ventilation ducts, such parts can be called "flange parts". But this connection is only a part of the equipment, such as the connection between the flange and the water pump, it is not easy to call the water pump "flange parts". Smaller ones, such as valves, can be called "flange parts".
What is the purpose of the flange?
Flanges are used for positioning. For example, there is an installation method for the oil cylinder called flange installation, that is, for example, four symmetrical holes are punched around a rectangular parallelepiped, and there is a large hole in the middle that is the same as the outer diameter of the oil cylinder. The connection between the oil cylinder and other things is through the four holes around the cuboid, and the cuboid can be called a flange.
What are the main principles for choosing flanges?
For pipelines whose design temperature is 300°C and below and whose nominal pressure is less than or equal to 2.5MPa, flat-welded flanges should be used; for pipelines whose design temperature is greater than 300°C or whose nominal pressure is greater than or equal to 4.0MPa, butt-welding flanges should be used.
In order to ensure that the installed flange does not leak oil, what problems should be paid attention to during installation?
1. The flange should have sufficient strength and should not be deformed when tightening. The flange sealing surface should be flat and clean, and oil stains and rust spots should be carefully cleaned during installation.
2. The gasket should have good oil resistance and anti-aging properties, as well as good elasticity and mechanical strength. For installation, gaskets of different cross-sections and sizes should be selected according to the shape of the connection, and placed correctly.
3. The tightening force of the flange should be uniform, and the compression amount of the rubber pad should be controlled at about 1/3.
