Fustar epdm rubber expansion joint is flexible connector fabricated of natural or synthetic elastomers with reinforcements to provide stress relief in piping systems due to thermal,mechanical and other movements.Our rubber materials are available in EPDM,Neoprene,Nitrile,Chlorobutyl,Butyl,Nitrile,Hypalon,Viton and Natural Rubber.Other materials are available on request.
EPDM Rubber Material Properties
EPDM is a type of synthetic rubber,which can be used in a wide range of applications.epdm rubber sphere has much better resistance to heat,light and ozone compared to unsaturated rubbers such as natural rubber,SBR or polychloroprene(Neoprene).As such,EPDM can be formulated to be resistance to tempratures as high as 150℃ ,and properly formulated,can be outside for many years or decades without degradation.EPDM has good low temperature properties,with elastic properties to temperature as low as -40℃ depending on the grade and the formulation.
EPDM is compatible with polar substances,e.g. fireproof hydraulic fluids,ketones,hot and cold water,and alkalis.It is incompatible with most hydrocarbons,such as oils,kerosene,aromatic,gasoline,as well halogenated solvents.EPDM exhibits outstanding resistance to heat,ozone,steam and weather.It is also an electrical insulator.
